Shaheen Academy was founded in 2015 by “The Godfather of Pakistani MMA,” Bashir Ahmad. Our philosophy is to use Martial Arts as a vehicle for self improvement, confidence and discipline for the youth of Charrar Pind, Lahore. We provide them with tools that can change their lives and unleash their greatest potential.
We provide martial arts classes for children living in the slum of Charrar Pind, Lahore. Our goal is for these kids to take the discipline and respect they learn through our classes and apply them to all aspects of their lives. Many of them do not go to school and spend their days wandering the streets, begging, or doing drugs. Shaheen Academy is their only option for a safe and structured environment.
Bashir Ahmad is a Pakistani-American who was born in Pakistan, and raised in Virginia. He is also an Iraq War veteran and known as “The Godfather of Pakistani MMA.” In 2009, he moved to Pakistan to promote the sport of MMA, with a vision that he could use martial arts as a way to bring the best out of people, to get kids off the streets, and to give discipline to youth who may otherwise end up in drugs, crime and militancy. He wanted to do something positive for Pakistan, and thus, Shaheen Academy was born.
Shaheen Academy runs primarily on donations from the martial arts community around the world. Your donations will go towards salaries for staff, general gym maintenance, and educational scholarships for some students. Aside from monetary donations, we are also in need of equipment sponsorships to upgrade the gym facilities.
This is one of the simplest ways to help out our cause. Aside from martial arts classes, we also offer free tutoring for our students and children living in the slum of Charrar Pind. We believe the best way for our initiatives to be successful is for the community to actively get involved in teaching and coaching.
